The refinery comprises several key components, including a Complex for Crude Oil Primary Distillation (LK-6U), a Complex for Compounding and Oil Product Dispatch, and a Complex for Advanced Processing of Crude Oil, known as KT-1, which specializes in deep processing.

Two new complexes of process units, the The Sulfur Recovery Units, along with the Isomerization and Naphtha Splitter unit, were developed and commissioned at the Refinery as part of the enhancement project. The objective of the newly established U&O facilities is to support the consistent operation of the recently constructed and operational quantity .

Each project commences with an environmental impact assessment conducted during the planning stage to evaluate the project's potential effects on the environment and other relevant factors, in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the specifications of Qazaqstan Marine Fuels LLP, and the precautionary principle outlined in the United Nations Rio Declaration on Environmental Protection and Development. Furthermore, public hearings are held during the design phase to solicit input from public associations, research institutions, governmental bodies, administrative and regulatory authorities, as well as the media and general public.
